DescriptionThis project investigates polymorphisms in six candidate growth-related genes (IGF1, GH1, GH2, MSTN, IGFBP3, GDF9) and evaluates their association with body weight traits from birth to 48 months in Rohilkhandi goats using PCR-RFLP genotyping and statistical association analysis.

TitleBody weight growth record in Rohilkhandi goats from birth to 48 months of age
DescriptionLongitudinal body weight measurements in 50 female Rohilkhandi goats, a medium-sized indigenous breed native to the Rohilkhand region of Uttar Pradesh and recognised by NBAGR in 2018. All animals were aged four years or older and maintained at the Sheep and Goat Farm, Livestock Production and Management Section, ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Body weight was recorded from long-term farm records at 17 age points, from birth through 48 months of age at 3-month intervals. Mean body weight increased from 2.17 kg at birth to 28.55 kg at 48 months. The dataset provides a consistent single-herd record of the growth trajectory in this breed.
