- Abstract: Chandipura virus CHPV, a neurotropic virus belonging to the genus Vesiculovirus within the family Rhabdoviridae, is associated with acute encephalitis outbreaks in children and has caused multiple epidemics in India with high case-fatality rates. Despite its public health relevance, the molecular mechanisms underlying host cellular responses to CHPV infection remain insufficiently characterized. To investigate the temporal dynamics of host transcriptional changes during CHPV infection, we generated a time-resolved RNA-sequencing dataset from infected human cells. Human HEK293T cells were infected with CHPV, and total RNA was extracted at four post-infection time points: 6, 12, 18, and 24 hours post infection hpi. Mock-infected cells collected at 0 h served as controls. Each condition was processed in biological triplicates. RNA libraries were prepared and subjected to high-throughput paired-end sequencing to capture global transcriptomic changes associated with viral infection. The resulting dataset enables the identification of differentially expressed genes, DEGs, pathway enrichment patterns, and dynamic host cellular responses across the progression of infection.
