- Title: In depth genome analysis of a putative nitrogen fixing bacteria from rhizosphere of a medicinal plant
- Data Type : Whole Genome Sequencing
- Descriptive Title: Stenotrophomonas maltophilia was isolated from rhizosphere of Rauvolfia tetraphylla. It showed promising traits like nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization , IAA synthesis and siderophore production. We are interested in knowing its genomic attributes and also promising applications in agriculture.

Other Info
- Abstract: Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is expected to provide increased levels of fixed nitrogen to Rauvolfia plants. The isolate has previously been reported to cause nosocomial infections, it would be necessary to carry out functional genomic studies to ascertain its pathogenicity in humans. Besides, annotation of genes in whole genome of the organism would be useful in identifying other potential uses of this bacteria like production of secondary metabolites.
