Other Info
  • Abstract: Capsicum chinense is an economically important Capsicum species with significant variation across Northeastern India, necessitating reliable molecular identification. In this study, leaf samples of C. chinense collected from Meghalaya, India, were subjected to DNA barcoding using standard molecular markers-matK, rbcL, and trnH-psbA. High-quality sequences were generated and analyzed to confirm species identity and assess marker effectiveness. The chloroplast regions-matK, rbcL, trnH-psbA provided species-level resolution, supporting their utility in authenticating C. chinense.
