- Abstract: Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Inflammatory Bowel Disease are complex gastrointestinal disorders with distinct pathological mechanisms yet overlapping symptoms. While IBS is primarily a functional disorder without overt inflammation, IBD, including Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis , involves chronic intestinal inflammation driven by immune dysregulation. Recent evidence suggests that neuro-immune interactions and gut microbiome alterations play a significant role in both conditions. However, the molecular signatures underlying immune cell dysfunction in these diseases remain poorly understood. This study aims to characterize the transcriptional landscapes of immune cells in healthy individuals, IBS, and IBD patients using high-throughput RNA sequencing.
